Allergy List List of Nightshades Alternatives
Siobhan Richardson's allergy list:
Please note, it's not the kind of allergy that will put me in mortal danger (it's not like a peanut allergy, for example), but it will make me ill if I eat it. Also, very strong odours, like stuffed green peppers or roasting eggplant, will make me feel nauseus.
Please let me know if you are unable to accommodate my needs and I will be happy to bring food for myself.
Salmon
Lactose-Intolerant (This is not serious: I can take pills for thi before I eat)
Nightshades*
This is a whole family of foods:

tomatoes
potatoes
eggplant
peppers (yes, any kind of pepper -- including sweet peppers and hot peppers -- except black and white pepper)
mushrooms
ground cherries
tomatillos
garden huckleberry
tamarillos
pepinos
naranjillas
pimentos
goji berries
wolf berries
gooseberries
maca root

Please remember to check ingredients lists. Sauces and spices may contain nightshades. Some examples are:
ketchup
paprika
cayenne
mustard
HP sauce
Tabasco sauce
some salad dressings
If a list says "spices", it's best not to use it in food for me.
Alternatives:

Great alternatives to have on hand for me are meats, fish, rice, vegetables and salad (no peppers or tomato slices, but cherry tomatoes are easy to pick out).
Lots of protein is good! Just remember to watch for nightshades in sauces, marinades, some cold cuts and salami.

Thank you for your help and consideration.
Please don't hesitate to ask if you are unsure about anything.
