- Are a conduit and mediator between the actors and production
- Movement Coach
- administrative support and tracking for all scenes and moments of intimacy
- Are accountable to the Showrunner and Executive Producer.
IC is engaged to:
- implement proper protocols for:
- nudity; and/ or
- scenes of
- Simulated sexual activity
- an intimate, sensitive or sexually violent nature.
- Ensure performers have:
- adequate notice of what is expected,
- an opportunity to provide meaningful consent, and
- Ensure measures are in place to ensure Performer safety and protection against abuse.
- Facilitate conversations of sensitive nature (consent, boundaries, vascular reactions of the body, menstrual cycles, biomechanics of sex acts, mental health support etc).
- Assist in creating Riders for performers by writing out in layman’s terms.
- Intimacy dramaturgy (does the intimacy design suit the production, the period, etc.)
- Establish consent between all performers who are performing in or subjected to the scene
- Offer advice and best practices for process (power dynamics, costume of nude, safety protocols, etc)
- Offer Mental Health First Aid and/or Psychological First Aid support when needed
- Coordinate with wardrobe and hair and makeup on modesty and wardrobe needs
- Assist production in clear communication, with regard to scenes and moments of intimacy
- Further specialties and expertise related to these scenes and their adjacent topics
- Flagging content
- Ease with sexualized language and content
- On-site “encyclopedia” as related to the informational context of scenes and moments of intimacy
